NLCS Game 4 | Another Red October
If there is one thing you should know about me, it’s that I’m a huge St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. Last year the red birds went all the way to the World Series in the MLB postseason— and won! Game 6 and 7 of the World Series were two of the best nights in college I’ve ever had. Check out my some of my posts (here and here and definitely here) from last fall to read more about the St. Louis Cardinals’ journey to conquer its 11th World Champion title in 2011… a feat that was quickly abbreviated in the Twittersphere as “#11in11.”
This year I am spoiled with another “Red October.” This city goes crazy during postseason play; St. Louis, is, after all, home to the best fans in baseball! Right now the birds lead the NLCS 3-2. With just one more win against the San Francisco Giants, the Cards will roll on to the World Series to defend their champion title.
On Thursday this week I spontaneously decided I needed a cure for my “red bird fever.” I hopped on Stubhub.com and snatched a pair of tickets to Game 4 of the NLCS at Busch Stadium for that night. My friend Jenna joined me, and we jumped on the MetroLink (which has a stop right next to SLU’s campus) for a quick ride down to the stadium. The tickets were a pretty penny to pay, but the experience was worth it. With 50,000 rally towels being waved almost the entire game, the Cardinals defeated the Giants 8-3. What a win! What a night! Hopefully I’ll the Cards will keep it up and I can soon blog more about their quest to win “#12in12.” St. Louis is an amazing city to be in, but especially during October.
Let’s go Cardinals!
